Let’s dive into Kaleena and Jan’s beautiful Victoria Beach engagement photos! There’s no shortage of beaches in Southern California for engagement portraits, so I want to show off why it’s such a great spot. So let’s get going. Today we’re going through a Victoria Beach engagement photoshoot!

I include an engagement photography session for all of my wedding clients because I feel that it helps tenfold for the wedding day to run more smoothly. Instead of working out the kinks of getting to know my clients and their dynamic on the wedding day, that’s taken care of during the engagement session.

In Kaleena and Jan‘s case, building that rapport before their wedding day didn’t matter because Kaleena and I have been friends since college! We’ve even travelled around the world together. So I’m beyond happy that she’s found her perfect match in Jan, and that they’re beginning to build their life together.

As a Southern California wedding photographer, here’s why I love this beach:

It looks different than any other beach in SoCal!

One huge reason I love shooting at the beach is for the wide open space, and that’s definitely the case at Victoria Beach in Laguna. As you scroll down you’ll see that there’s a lot of shoreline space and it’s not crowded at all. (That’s very likely because we went on a weeknight, but still.)

Here’s what you can’t find elsewhere:

In the most secluded corner of the beach you’ll find a tall, fairytale-esque tower! I believe the tower is attached to a home and isn’t accessible to the public, but that doesn’t matter! It’s still beautiful!

Keep scrolling to see more reasons why this beach is awesome, in addition to some kind words from Kaleena and Jan themselves!

See those mossy rocks down there in these Victoria Beach engagement photos?

I don’t come across those often here in Southern California. Sure, there are lots of rocky beaches. But a rocky beach with a pop of green? You’ll only find that in Victoria Beach. If you’re someone who loves blues and greens like me (peep the branding! Thank you Haley Mosher!!!), this spot is killer.

Now I want to throw it on over for some words directly from Kaleena and Jan:

“Katie Baker is the best of the best. She is a true professional with real passion for her craft. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at ease which made the photos turn out incredible. Her photography style is natural and clean and I would highly recommend to anyone who wants timeless photos. She also threw in a free engagement session before the wedding which is amazing. This way you get to do a bit of a trial run before the big day. Plus, she sends sneak peaks super fast so you have a handful of photos within a few days.

Do not walk, RUN to go get Katie as your wedding photographer!!”

All in all, the Victoria Beach is a beautiful location for your Southern California engagement photos. The wide open beach is perfect for frolicking around. And that tower? You can’t find that anywhere else.
