Let’s dive into Jerika and Patrick’s Glendale California Armenian wedding! From our first consult call through their engagement session, they’ve referred to their wedding as the “Big Fat Armenian Wedding” and YUP that’s definitely accurate! They spent the day surrounded by loved ones, lots of food, and loud music. These two are my kind of people for sure!!
I love working with clients like Jerika and Patrick who approach their wedding day with such thoughtfulness. You can tell that they put in time and effort to integrate their family cultures together! With that being said, the day was structured a little differently than a typical American wedding but was full of energy and laughter. Enjoy scrolling through with me to relive their fabulous day!
However I want to start with a huge shout out to these vendors who made the day possible!
The day started out with a party at Patrick’s family home! Think lots of dancing and greeting wedding guests. You’ll see that Jerika started out the day in this gorgeous dress and later changed into her wedding dress.
Instead of spending most of the day apart, it’s typical that the groom comes out to meet the bride during the party and during the party the bride changes into her gown.
Their dog, Pixie was such a fun addition to their day! You’ll find her turning heads in their engagement photos too 😍
Following the dancing comes the most important part of the morning party – pinning the red and green sashes on the groom! And while Patrick got the royal treatment, Jerika changed into her wedding dress then came back down for their first look.
This is one of my favorite moments from the day! Patrick’s mom gifted Jerika a family ring with blue stones in the middle to serve as her “something blue”! You can see Jerika saying “No no no” and not pictured is me getting teary-eyed along with her.
Black and white church photos are my absolute FAVORITE. Traditional Armenian church wedding ceremonies don’t include exchanging rings, so that’s the first thing Jerika and Patrick did for their Glendale California Armenian wedding. In addition, they aren’t allowed to share their first kiss as a married couple inside the church, so their first kiss is on the front steps of the church.
Now on to one of my favorite parts of every wedding day – bride and groom portraits!! For their photos, we headed over to Brand Park Library in Glendale. Since Patrick grew up going to Brand Park, it was able to be a beautiful, sentimental backdrop for their portraits! The architecture is everything of the sort.
Now it’s on the reception of this Glendale California Armenian wedding!
Their reception started out with a bang – aka smashing plates!! The dancing and energy continued all night long through the couples’ first dance and into the rest of the night.
