Palm Springs is known for its bright, fun aesthetic and this Avalon Hotel wedding absolutely delivers that!
The Avalon Hotel overall is a beautiful place to choose for your wedding. I’m a huge proponent of venues that have lots of options for things like your portraits, bridal party portraits, and family portraits. It’s tricky when a venue has one iconic photo location, but the light is bad at that spot when you need to take family photos there. It’s frustrating to get caught in a bind with limited space and bad light. So future brides and grooms – look out for versatility!
That being said, keep scrolling to see how this Avalon Hotel wedding takes us all around the venue. From their getting ready photos in the suites, to bridal party portraits, to the gorgeous ceremony space, and back to the reception – it’s all incredible! I’ve got to hand it to this hotel – they’ve got a great grasp on what works best for couples.
Okay, now on to Ethan & Shira’s big day!!!
I love spending time photographing details at the beginning of the day. It’s nice for me to warm up but setting up flatlays and getting my creative juices flowing. You’ll see a couple extra rings in the detail shots and here’s why! Ethan works for the LA Dodgers and wanted to wear his ring during the wedding, so Ethan and Shira made a compromise. He got to wear his Dodgers ring if he got her another ring. Hence, the five ring flatlay!
After Ethan and Shira’s sweet first look, we snuck out behind the Avalon Hotel for portraits with their bridal party. Palm Springs is really the best city because the streets ALL look so cute! Every street has the most fun-looking houses and we had a wide variety to pick from for all of the bridal party portraits.
Ethan and Shira’s Avalon Hotel wedding was a traditional Jewish ceremony, with their own twist to it. Typically when the bride enters the ceremony she circles the groom, but they both wanted to circle each other as a symbol of their partnership in marriage. How cute is that??!!
A traditional ceremony followed their sweet ceremony – a grand entrance, first dances, dinner, speeches, and the hora. Once their dance party was in full swing, the bride and groom surprised their guests with an In N Out delivery! Ethan and Shira snuck out for one last moment alone with their burgers in the lobby of the Avalon.
Let’s get going on all the beautiful details!!!
