An Emotion-Filled Wedding Day
The first thing I noticed about Tara & Kevin’s Santa Barbara Courthouse wedding day is how sweet they are to each other. You can just sense the excitement they both have for their wedding day from the way they interact. When I was shooting their wedding I also noticed how they much their families really integrated as one family. It was so beautiful to see that official unification of their two families!
You’ll see that they chose the historic courthouse in Santa Barbara as their wedding location. I mean, wow! The Santa Barbara Courthouse is a perfect venue for those wanting their wedding to feel simple, yet grand at the same time. The architecture makes a stunning backdrop for weddings and elopements alike.
All About Weddings at the Santa Barbara Courthouse
As a Southern California wedding photographer, I have a lot experience shooting various locations and venues. I think that sharing some thoughts about this venue in particular would be helpful to potential couples locking down all their wedding plans. So here are all my thoughts after shooting at the Santa Barbara Courthouse!
Santa Barbara is a gorgeous beach town about 75 miles north of Los Angeles. It’s a popular location for destination weddings because of the gorgeous beaches and the small-town vibe. The bright Spanish-style architecture is consistent all throughout town and you’ll find cute little side streets all over the place.
That ceremony backdrop??? Absolutely iconic. The view from the lawn of the archway and the clocktower is absolutely gorgeous and the real money shot. Be advised, though. Even if you reserve this venue, it’s open to the public and people can walk all around during your ceremony! Most people have the common courtesy to avoid disrupting, but it’s something to be aware of.
What’s also great about the Santa Barbara Courthouse, is that it’s perfectly located. It’s right in the center of town so you can be able to hop over to the beach for some incredible sunset photos.
