Kaleena & Jan’s Sunset Cliffs San Diego wedding was a dream. These two mean so much to me and I’m beyond grateful that they decided to elope in San Diego! A couple of days before their elopement we ventured to Laguna Beach to take their engagement photos and get them warmed up for the big day.
To paint the full picture, Kaleena and I have been friends since our freshman dorm days in college! That ten year mark is coming up soon, which truly boggles my mind! In the span of those years we’ve made incredible memories and even backpacked through Europe for over a month. Once we graduated Kaleena jumped the pond for good to get her graduate degree in Greece!! I often say she’s the coolest person I know because that’s simply the truth.
And that’s where our guy Jan comes in! Jan is German and met Kaleena while he vacationed in Greece, and once Kaleena finished her degree she moved to Germany to be with him. Truly a love story for the ages.

With COVID-19 causing all sorts of uncertainty in the world, they decided to elope at Sunset Cliffs so her immediate family could attend. Their ceremony was simple, heartfelt, funny, and 100% them. I love how they included a sand ceremony show their lives officially becoming intertwined and their commitment to each other. Now I may be a little biased, but I cannot get enough of their portraits!! The sunset along the cliffs? Their cute faces?? Kaleena and Jan, I hope your life in Germany is everything and more. Selfishly, I also hope you move back to Southern California so we can surf! I love you both and enjoy reliving your day through your images!!!
