I’m so so so grateful I got to make the trip up to Northern California Brett & Haley’s incredible BackRoad Vines wedding day! Haley’s an incredibly talented designer (who actually did my branding!!!), so I knew the day would be beautiful and full of meaningful moments.
I might be biased, but their first look was one of my favorite parts of the day! We found a park near their wedding venue that provided the most beautiful backdrop for their love to shine through. Scroll down and you’ll see how Brett is TRULY the dip-kiss-expert. He might need to start teaching a masterclass because it was absolutely flawless!
Haley also had a first look with her four grandmas and it was so special! She wanted to make those lovely ladies feel a little extra love on her big day, so Haley planned time to do a first look and spend time with them before the ceremony. I LOVED seeing the grandmas hyping up their girl and now I’m thinking a grandmas first look needs to be a new wedding trend! We need to take this further than just a BackRoad Vines wedding type of thing!
Here’s what Haley had to say:
“Katie is everything you could want in a wedding photographer. She’s professional, friendly, and makes everyone feel so at ease during shoots. We’ve done three sessions with her, and all three yielded such beautiful photos that captured our emotions and our relationship perfectly. What I appreciate most is her distinct style and ability to capture candids. Anyone can get beautiful photos of smiling models, but Katie snags those little moments that make a relationship unique. The photos are timeless and so sentimental as a result, because they represent YOU instead of whatever is popular at the time.
One of her best traits as a wedding photographer specifically is her flexibility. No wedding day goes off without a hitch, and Katie rolls with the punches as if it was the plan the whole time. She’s calm under pressure, patient with pesky art-directing relatives, and her smile is contagious even in the most stressful moments. I probably look back on our photos once a week remembering what a beautiful day we had and how much of it I owe to Katie and her flexibility in being able to capture it all.
Her gallery delivery process is straightforward and I know how much care she puts into editing (not a preset in sight, folks!). I simply just can’t sing her praises enough; If you want beautiful keepsake photographs and a photographer invested in capturing your relationships perfectly, Katie is 100% your gal. Book her, book her, book her!”

This was one of my favorite moments of the day – Haley’s first look with her four grandmas!! They came from all over the United States to spend the day with Haley & Brett, so Haley wanted to do something special with them. Let me tell you – there was not a dry eye in the house!
