Where do I start with this Hickory North Carolina wedding photography???
It’s such an honor to photograph once-in-a-lifetime wedding days. Especially when they happen twice! Megan and Riley tied the knot in December of 2020 and the stars aligned for me to fill in last minute while their families watched them exchange vows. I was beyond excited when they reached out to see if I’d come out for their big wedding celebration and vow renewal. Obviously I had to be there for this Hickory North Carolina wedding photography extravaganza!
Here’s what they had to say about their wedding day:
“Katie was a dream to work with! Through many different bumps in the road, Katie remained flexible and calm and never made me feel like an inconvenience. Katie also captured the natural beauty between my now husband and I and I am truly in love with our photos from the wedding. I know I’ll treasure them forever.”
Vendors:
Ceremony: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
Reception: Warehouse 18
Dress: Simpson’s Bridal

This is a really fun idea that’s gained some traction in the past few years: a bridesmaids’ first look!
This works especially well if you’re not getting ready with your bridesmaids or if you only have one person help you get ready. Their reactions are priceless.

In our pre-wedding consultation, Riley pointed out that the photo below was one of the most important photos for them. About 30 years prior, Riley’s parents had been married in this same church in Hickory, North Carolina. He grew up looking at a framed photo of his parents exchanging vows and so they wanted one to match.
How sweet is that?

Megan bought this dress at with the intention of getting married in this church. She knew she could lean into the drama and the grandeur of the train and a cathedral veil in a cathedral!
