The Andersen family’s photo session in Point Dume, Malibu was nothing short of perfection! I can’t wait for you to see how adorable this family is. Plus, I’m beyond grateful that their sweet daughter was so cooperative during the shoot! Sometimes working with little kiddos is really tricky. You’ve got to play your timing just right in order to get them when they’re the most happy.
Malibu is such an incredible place and you’ll see that I love love LOVE to shoot here! The beaches are absolutely unmatched, in my opinion. Whether it be for wedding, engagement, or family photos most people opt to shoot at El Matador Beach in Malibu. However I’m here to present Point Dume as another awesome option!
Point Dume, Malibu is a huge bluff that’s right at the edge of Zuma Beach. And here’s why Point Dume is such a great spot for photoshoots: the! versatility!
In my opinion, it’s optimal to have lots of space and directions to shoot from. So if you’re looking for a good spot for your next Malibu photoshoot, give Point Dume a try. You can head up to the bluff itself to get stunning shots of the ocean view or you can stick down to the beach itself like the photos below. What’s great about this location is how accessible it is.
You simply drive all the way down to park at very end of Zuma Beach and walk out to the sand. Simple as that!
I prefer to photograph sessions in the evening, but for certain locations a morning session is perfect. Crowded locations are typically easier to maneuver around in the morning before anyone has arrived. So a place like this or the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles are best to opt for a morning shoot.
